Event Overview

Lost in Miami Ultra is an 18-hour fixed-time running event. Unlike typical races, it has no set route or loops. Participants choose their own adventure through the streets of Miami.

Event Format

Runners receive a list of required landmark locations a few days before the race. They then have 18 hours to navigate the city, reaching these landmarks and returning to the finish line. Runners can plan an efficient route or take a more scenic, improvised approach. The event does not use cards or provide directions.

Ranking and Rules

Rankings are based on the most miles accumulated within the 18-hour period. Participants must use a GPS tracker to verify mileage. To be eligible for podium awards, runners must reach all required landmarks and return to the finish line on foot. Those who take a ride to the finish are still considered finishers and receive credit for miles completed on foot but are ineligible for awards. In a distinctive rule, runners must take a selfie at each landmark and show these pictures at the finish to officially register their miles.

Participation and Perks

The event is capped at 40 runners. It is described as a fun, lighthearted challenge that can be undertaken solo or with others; forming partnerships or teams is encouraged. All participants receive a Lost in Miami t-shirt, surprise swag, and a finisher medal. An overall podium recognizes the top three runners with the most miles.

Key Locations

The event starts and finishes at Hero Martial Arts, located at 17049 S. Dixie Hwy, Palmetto Bay, FL. The 18-hour time limit requires all runners to return to this finish location by midnight. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
