About the race
The Stillwater Center 5K and fun run is a Halloween themed community race in Dayton, OH on October 17, 2026 that raises funds for programs serving people with developmental disabilities. Proceeds support recreational programming, therapeutic activities, and other items not covered by other funding sources.
The event features a costume contest, trick or treat, and raffle prizes. Distances offered include:
- 5K
- 1 mile fun run
Registration is open through race day. The 5K registration fee is $35. The fun run is free and participants can add a shirt for a fee. Shirts are guaranteed for entries completed by October 7; a limited number may be available on race day. There is no onsite registration; online registration remains open until shortly before the event. Registration fees are nonrefundable and nontransferrable, though transfers to another participant are permitted through September 17.
Awards are given by age groups. Parking is available on the campus grass and attendees are asked to follow volunteers' directions. Organizers reserve the right to reschedule, cancel, or convert the race to a virtual format for reasons such as weather, public safety, or public health guidance. No refunds will be issued and race items will not be mailed. The event will follow current pandemic guidance recommended by the State of Ohio.
