Steveston Icebreaker 8K
The Steveston Icebreaker is an annual running event on January 18, 2026, at Imperial Landing on Bayview Street in Richmond, BC. The event uses a certified course along Richmond's waterfront and offers in-person and virtual options. Title sponsorship is by New Balance Richmond and the event is organized by the Kajaks Track and Field Club.

What registration includes
In-person 8K registration includes a certified course, chipped timing, a personalized race bib (if registered by December 15, 2025), a finisher medal, a $20 New Balance gift card, post-race snacks and drinks, Blonyx samples and discounts, and entry into draw prizes. Kidsrun registration includes a personalized bib, a finisher medal, a $20 New Balance gift card, healthy snacks and a juice box, stickers, and photos. Virtual participants receive a virtual race bib and finisher medal that must be picked up at New Balance Richmond.
Registration, fees and fundraising
Online registration closes January 11, 2026. Entry fees are non-refundable; race transfers are permitted until January 1, 2026, with a $10 fee. Proceeds from the Kidsrun go to KidSport Richmond; current fundraising shows $1,068.36 raised toward a $12,500 goal (about 9%). Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
