Sterling Down & Dirty 5K - Short Beach, Stratford, CT
The Sterling Down & Dirty 5K is an obstacle based fun run held at Short Beach on Dorne Drive in Stratford, Connecticut. The course covers five kilometers and features more than 18 obstacles distributed across sand and muddy sections. The event is presented as family friendly and allows participants to complete obstacles at their own pace.
Children aged eight and older may run the full 5K course. Kids aged 8 to 11 must participate with a registered adult. Participants aged 12 to 17 do not require an adult chaperone but a legal guardian must sign event waiver(s). Children seven years and under are not permitted to run and may attend as spectators with adult supervision.
Registration includes one race shirt and a finisher's medal. The event is a fundraiser for the Sterling Community Center with proceeds supporting the Sterling Food Pantry, youth development, and youth programs. Group discounts and corporate rates are offered for larger groups when registered together.
Logistics notes provided by the organizer state there will be designated parking areas at no charge, no bag check, and no animals allowed on site. Recommended attire includes sneakers suitable for running, climbing, and crawling; utility gloves are permitted; flip flops are not allowed.
