Steps for Kids 2026

Steps for Kids 2026 is a walking and running event organized by the Starling Child and Family Foundation in Waterloo, Ontario. Located at 285 Benjamin Road, the event supports children and youth facing mental health challenges across the Waterloo Region. Proceeds from the event fund programs such as the Children’s Mental Health Centre and Safe Haven Youth Services, which provide care for young people experiencing depression and anxiety.

The event offers two distance options for participants:

5 km

The program includes time for family activities and an official event kickoff before the start of the walk and run. Pets are welcome to attend with participants. The event is scheduled to take place rain or shine, and participants are encouraged to prepare for the local weather conditions.
