Step Up for Seniors 5K
Step Up for Seniors 5K is a community running event held at the Hood County Senior Center in Granbury, Texas, on October 3, 2026. The event offers two distances and is organized to raise funds for local senior services.
The event benefits the Hood County Senior Center. All proceeds support daily meals, activities, and social events at the center, as well as the Meals on Wheels program, which provides over 1,000 meals weekly to Hood County seniors in need.
Registration information includes an opening date of April 17, 2026. Early registration rates apply through August 3, 2026: 5K registration is $40 and 1 mile registration is $20. Rates increase after August 3 to $50 for the 5K and $25 for the 1 mile. Race shirts are guaranteed for racers registered by September 3, 2026.
All participants receive a participation medal. Additional awards are offered by age and gender: the 5K awards medals to the top three male and female finishers in each age group; the 1 mile event provides award ribbons to finishers by age group. Age divisions include 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and over.
Early packet pick-up is scheduled for October 2, 2026 at the Hood County Senior Center, 501 E. Moore Street, Granbury, TX 76048. Walk-up registration is available the morning of the event. Pets are welcome but must be on a leash. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
