Purpose, fees and awards
Proceeds support the Hood County Senior Center and its Meals on Wheels program. The Meals on Wheels program is reported to provide over 1,000 meals weekly to Hood County seniors in need. Registration fees listed in the event information are $30 for the 5K and $15 for the 1 Mile for earlier registrations, and $40 for the 5K and $20 for the 1 Mile for later registrations.
All participants receive a participation medal. For the 5K, medals are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each age group. For the 1 Mile, award ribbons are given to all participant finishers in each age group. Age divisions are listed by gender in these groups: 9 & under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and over. Pets are allowed but must be on a leash.
