Steel City 12 Hour Run & Ruck : Middletown, OH
The Steel City 12 Hour Run & Ruck is a timed endurance event held over a 12 hour period on August 1–2, 2026 at Smith Park, 500 Tytus Avenue, Middletown, OH 45042. The format asks participants to complete as many laps as possible on a 1.52 mile loop that follows a paved path around the park and parallels Middletown Regional Airport. The course is described as very flat and looped.
Events listed are a 12 Hour Run and a 12 Hour Ruck. Awards are given for several distance milestones and for top male and female finishers in both running and rucking. Specific awarded distances include:
- Half marathon (ruck only)
- Marathon
- 50k
- 50 miles
Timing will be chip based by Brunning Endurance Company. There is one aid station at the start and finish area stocked with water, vegetable soup, bacon, coffee and donuts. Participants may bring a canopy and personal aid to set up along the course.
Ruck participants must carry a minimum of 25 pounds; packs will be weighed at the event registration booth. Entry price is listed as $60. Race shirts are available for $25 if purchased before July 10. Participants must be age 16 or older; those under 18 require a guardian present.
