Event Overview

The Steamworks Half Marathon is a 13.1-mile race set in the San Juan Mountains near Durango, Colorado. The high-elevation course runs at approximately 6,500 feet above sea level.

Course Details

The course is a point-to-point route from Baker's Bridge to the Durango Fitness Club on Florida Road. The route follows County Road 250 alongside the Animas River. The course is USATF certified, marked with orange cones and mile markers, and is not closed to traffic.

Participants have the option of an early start at 7:00 AM for those needing extra time. The course and finish line close at 12:00 noon. There are six aid stations along the route, approximately every two miles, providing water and Tailwind sports drink, with one station also offering GU, snacks, and a porta-potty.

Logistics

Participation is capped at 250 runners. There is no parking at the start line at Baker's Bridge; it is drop-off only. On race morning, shuttle buses and a van will transport runners from the Durango Fitness Club to the start beginning at 6:30 AM on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants are encouraged to arrange their own drop-off if possible. Parking is available at the finish line at Durango Fitness Club, with overflow parking at Grace Church.

Packet pickup is available on Friday at Durango Running Company and on race morning at the Durango Fitness Club parking lot.

Post-Race

All finishers receive a custom pint glass. The event concludes with a pool party at the Durango Fitness Club, featuring food and beverages from Steamworks Brewing and Homeslice Pizza.
