Steamworks Half Marathon
The Steamworks Half Marathon is a high elevation road race in the San Juan Mountains near Durango, Colorado. The course covers 13.1 miles at approximately 6,500 feet above sea level on a point to point route along County Road 250 beside the Animas River and finishes at the Durango Fitness Club on Florida Road. The route is certified by USATF.
The event is limited to 250 runners. The course remains open to traffic and is marked with orange cones and mile markers. Six aid stations are placed roughly every two miles offering water and Tailwind sports drink; one station also provides GU, snacks, and a porta potty. Additional porta potties are located at the start area, the halfway point, and the finish. An early start option is available for participants who need extra time; early starters are not eligible for awards but will receive a finisher pint glass.
Race day transportation is provided from the Durango Fitness Club to the start; start line access is drop off only and no parking is available at the start. Parking is available at the finish and at designated overflow locations. Packet pickup takes place at the Durango Running Company and at the Durango Fitness Club on race weekend.
All finishers receive a custom pint glass. Overall winners receive a gift certificate for a pair of shoes from Durango Running Company and age group winners receive Steamworks gift certificates.
