Statuto Race : 105th running (2026)
The Statuto Race is an annual road event in San Francisco that commemorates the creation of the first Italian Constitution (Statuto Albertino). The race has been held since 1919, with interruptions during World War II and in 2020.
Participants choose between these distances:
- 8K run
- 2 mile walk
Start and finish are at the San Francisco Italian Athletic Club (SFIAC), 1630 Stockton Street. The 8K course heads north on Stockton, turns east on North Point, crosses the Embarcadero, continues south on the Embarcadero sidewalk to a turnaround near Red’s Java House at Bryant Street, and returns to the SFIAC by the same route. The 2 mile walk follows the same route with a turnaround at Pier 23. The course features a downhill at the start and an uphill at the finish. A water station is located on the Embarcadero sidewalk between Pier 26 and Pier 28.
All finishers receive a race t-shirt, a goody bag, and a commemorative race medal; finishers are also eligible for a post-race raffle (winners must be present). A post-race brunch is offered with a stated menu; bottomless mimosas will not be available and a cash bar will be offered. Brunch pricing is listed for adults and children; children under five attend free.
Awards for the 8K include trophies for top overall finishers and first responders, and medals for 1st–3rd in specified age groups by gender. All awards are based on chip time. Local parking garages and nearby MUNI lines serve the area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
