About the race
The Statesboro 5K Turkey Trot is an annual fundraising event hosted by the Bulloch County Foundation for Public Education. Proceeds fund the Foundation’s classroom innovation grants, college scholarships for REACH Georgia scholars, and local teacher recognition programs including the Teacher of the Year and STAR Student/Teacher initiatives. The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization managed by a board of trustees.
The event is held on the Bulloch County Courthouse Square in downtown Statesboro and uses a route through nearby historic retail and residential neighborhoods. The course is presented as family friendly; wagons, strollers, and leashed dogs are permitted. There is also a short Fun Run for children 12 and under.

Registration opens August 11, 2026. Participants who register by October 31, 2026 are guaranteed a race packet and a preferred t-shirt size. Registration pricing changes on November 1, 2026. Early packet pick up is scheduled the day before the race at the Bulloch County Board of Education, 150 Williams Road, for participants who meet the early pick up criteria. Race day packet pick up is available at the Courthouse Square. Awards and a raffle are presented after the race on the Courthouse Square.
