Event Overview
The Chocolate Run 5K is a running and walking event in Statesboro, Georgia. It takes place on Saturday, February 28, 2026. The event is organized to raise money and awareness for the Open Hearts Community Mission.
Distances
The event offers two distances:
- Fun Run/Walk
- 5K Run/Walk
A virtual 5K option is also available for participation from any location. Virtual participants are not timed.
Location & Schedule
The event is based at the GSU RAC Pavilion, located at 3300 Old Register Rd in Statesboro. Early packet pickup is available at the same location on Friday, February 27, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Course & Perks
The 5K course goes through the Georgia Southern University campus. Participants may receive sweet treats, a race t-shirt, and a finisher medal. These items are available while supplies last.
Awards
Awards are given for the top three overall male, female, and masters (40+) finishers. Age group awards are given to the top two male and female finishers in each category, ranging from 10 and under to 70 and over. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
