18th Annual Rocco Laurie Memorial Staten Island Triathlon / Duathlon
This event on 08/09/2026 takes place at Midland Beach, Staten Island, NY 10314. Multiple race formats are offered on a course centered at the transition area by the baseball field at the west end of Father Capodanno Blvd, with parking available at Lot 9 by Lincoln Ave.
The bike course runs on Father Capodanno Blvd, completed as three loops for a total of 12 miles. The course is closed to traffic for the race and is described as flat with no significant elevation gain. The swim uses open water at Midland Beach; water and current conditions at this location are described as relatively calm and wetsuits are optional. Lifeguards and NYPD Water Patrol will be on duty for the swim.
Run segments take place on the Franklin D Roosevelt Boardwalk. Run courses include a turnaround near parking lot 5 at about 1.5 miles and return to the finish at the transition area. Relay options and an aquabike division are included alongside individual triathlon and duathlon formats. Volunteer positions are part of race operations; volunteers must check in before race activities and sign out to receive race credit.
