Event
The 18th Annual Rocco Laurie Memorial Staten Island Triathlon/Duathlon takes place on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Boardwalk, Staten Island, NY 10305. The event includes multiple race options: triathlon, duathlon, team relay triathlon, team relay duathlon, aquabike, and a Volunteer 1 for 1 option. Entry for the main races is open to ages 18 and older. Prices are listed for each event and increase after April 30, 2026.
Course and distances
- Triathlon: 400 m swim; 12 miles bike (3 loops of 4 miles); 3 miles run.
- Duathlon: 3 miles run; 12 miles bike (3 loops of 4 miles); 3 miles run.
The bike segment uses Father Capodanno Boulevard on a closed course and consists of three flat loops with no significant elevation gain. The swim takes place at Midland Beach; water and current conditions are described as calmer than some other open water swims. Wetsuits are optional. Lifeguards and NYPD Water Patrol will be on duty.
Additional information
Transition and the finish are located near the first baseball field just outside the Miller Field parking lot, at the west end of Father Capodanno Boulevard. Parking is noted at Lot 9 by Lincoln Avenue. The race is not USAT certified or sanctioned, and a USAT racing license is not required to compete. Volunteer shifts are scheduled early on race day and volunteers must sign out to receive race credit. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
