Stately Trails: Forcett Park

Stately Trails at Forcett Park offers trail running on a lapped course within the estate. The route passes historic features including an estate boundary that follows Iron Age fortifications from neighbouring Stanwick Camp, a wall used for musket training in the civil war, and a Georgian grotto.

The course is a 5 km loop with a 10 km option as two laps. Terrain includes pasture fields, farm tracks and woodland. The organiser describes the course as fairly flat by their standards, but it may be muddy and uneven in places. Trail shoes are recommended.

  • 5 km - one lap; 13 years or older
  • 10 km - two laps; 16 years or older

The route will be marked with orange barrier tape, pin flags and coloured arrow signs. Critical turns and road crossings will be manned by marshals, and a copy of the route map is advised in case markings are moved. There will be one water station for 10 km runners at the start of the second lap; 5 km runners receive water at the finish. Toilets and on site parking will be available. There is no mandatory kit, and poles are banned unless an exception is requested. The event has an entrant limit of 200. Optional finish food and an optional coaster medal are available if ordered with entry. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
