Stately Trails: Aske Hall
Stately Trails at Aske Hall takes place within the private estate north of Richmond in North Yorkshire. The setting includes a Georgian country house, Capability Brown attributed parkland, a converted John Carr stable block chapel with Italianate decor, a mid 18th century Gothic folly, a coach house with carriage, a Victorian stable block, walled and terraced gardens, and a lake with a Roman style temple.
The event offers a single lap course used for both race distances. Surfaces include pasture fields, farm tracks and woodland paths. The organisers describe the course as fairly flat by their standards, but it may be muddy and uneven in places, so trail shoes are recommended. Course markings use orange barrier tape, orange pin flags and coloured arrow signs; all critical turns and road crossings will be manned by marshals, and the organisers advise carrying a copy of the route map in case markings are moved or removed.
Facilities and logistics include parking by the stable block with additional nearby field parking, registration at the stable block where entrants collect bibs and ordered mementos, portable toilets close to registration, and one water station on the 10km route at the start of the second lap. No mandatory kit is required for this event.
