2026 State Games of Tennessee 5K Races
The State Games of Tennessee is an annual multi-sport event that hosts athletes from across the state. This competition is open to participants of all ages and skill levels, providing a structured environment for runners to demonstrate their abilities. The event features two distinct running competitions held over two days in the Jackson area.
Participants can choose from the following distances and formats:
- Trail 5K: A multi-terrain race held at Pugh Bourne Park in Oakfield.
- Road 5K: A 3.1 mile course through historic downtown Jackson and the University of Memphis Lambuth campus.
The Road 5K route consists of a loop that passes through the local downtown district and the scenic grounds of the university campus. For this specific road race, top finishers who earn medals qualify for the bi-annual State Games of America.
Awards are presented to the top three finishers in a wide range of age divisions. These categories begin at 9 and under and continue in five-year increments, including groups such as 10-14, 40-44, and 80+. Gold, silver, and bronze medals are awarded to the winners in each of these specified age brackets for both the trail and road events. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
