Stars & Strides 5K Color Run
Stars & Strides is an untimed 5K run/walk held on July 4 at Rick Taylor Recreation Center in Hondo, Texas. The event includes separate entries for adults and for participants aged 17 and under. It is presented as a family friendly activity that welcomes runners, walkers and strollers. Sociable, leashed pets are allowed.
The route features blue and red powdered color stations and a water station at the 1.5 mile mark. Neon wristbands are available for participants who prefer not to be powdered, though a small amount of powder may still occur. White t-shirts are provided to participants who register by June 20; registration after that date does not guarantee a shirt.
No race bibs are issued and the event is not timed. The event runs rain or shine but may be delayed for dangerous conditions such as lightning. Organizers do not process cancellations or refunds after registration.
