Event Overview
The StarKid 5K is a running event scheduled for a Sunday in June 2026. It takes place at the Fairfax Corner Shopping Center in Fairfax, Virginia. The event features several race distances and is described as a morning of fitness, music, and community. The primary purpose of the event is to raise funds for pediatric services at Inova Children's, with specific support directed toward a new Pediatric Emergency Room at Inova Fairfax Hospital.
Distances and Activities
The event includes the following activities:
- 5K (with shirt)
- Fun Run (with shirt)
- 4 & Under Fun Run (with 4T shirt)
- 4 & Under Fun Run (without shirt)
All participants are welcome to run, jog, or walk. Strollers and pets are permitted. Participants can also create or join teams.
Registration and Fees
Registration is conducted online. For the 5K, fees are structured as follows: $20 from early March to late March, $30 from late March to mid-May, and $45 from mid-May until the morning of the event. All registered 5K participants receive a commemorative race shirt.
For the Fun Run and 4 & Under Fun Run, fees are $15 for the Fun Run (with shirt) and $10 for the 4 & Under Fun Run (with shirt). There is a free option for the 4 & Under Fun Run without a shirt. Registration for the Fun Run closes the morning of the event. Participants who register before mid-May are guaranteed a commemorative shirt.
Packet Pickup
Participants can pick up their race packets at pre-race locations on Friday and Saturday before the event. One location is the lobby area near Panera at Inova L.J. Murphy Children's Hospital in Falls Church. Another is at Potomac River Running in Fairfax. Race day packet pickup is available at the Plaza at Fairfax Corner from early morning until 30 minutes before each race start.
Awards and Amenities
Awards are given for the 5K (first place overall male and female) and the Fun Run (overall winner). All registered participants receive a finisher medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
