Stanley Park 10k : Blackpool
The Stanley Park 10k is a chip-timed road race held entirely within Stanley Park in Blackpool. The course is an accurately measured two-lap route that follows surface paths and wide park avenues, using both long runnable sections and tighter turns around the park.
Event HQ is on the eastern side of the park beside the BMX track and includes registration and bib collection, baggage storage, key drop, toilets and the start and finish area. Bibs are arranged in surname order at collection. Portable toilets, a staffed water station around halfway and water at the finish are provided. Baggage and keys are stored at the owner’s risk. Professional medical cover is available during the event.
The park has wide, surfaced paths and generally good pedestrian access; accessible parking is available nearby but limited. Results are recorded using a timing chip attached to the race number and will be published online after the race. Official race photos are taken on course and at the finish and are normally available within 24 to 48 hours. Headphones are permitted if worn at a low volume so runners can hear marshal and safety instructions. Every finisher receives a finisher medal and individual awards are presented in multiple age and gender categories, with prize vouchers emailed to winners.
