Stampede Duathlon
The Stampede Duathlon is scheduled for June 7, 2026 in Billings, Montana, beginning and ending at ZooMontana. The event offers multiple run, bike, run formats held on courses that use the zoo parking and surrounding roads and conservation areas.
Race distances include:
- The Jay - Run: 3 miles, Bike: 12 miles, Run: 1.5 miles
- The Bert - Run: 6 miles, Bike: 24 miles, Run: 3 miles

Run legs depart north from the ZooMontana parking lot and loop through the conservation area before returning. Bike legs depart south from the parking lot, cross over I-90, and follow backroads toward Laurel via River Road, including sections over and along the Yellowstone River.
There are two aid stations along the bike route; all other water and aid stations are located at the transition area. A portion of event proceeds is directed to ZooMontana's on site veterinary clinic. The organizer notes a capital campaign for an Animal Health Center and reports $1.9 million raised toward a $3.9 million goal.
