Staggered Start 4.6 Miler
The Staggered Start 4.6 Miler is the final race in the BCRR Winter Series, held at Tyler State Park, 101 Swamp Road, Newtown, PA 18940. The event is offered as a single-race entry with a registration fee of $25.00 and covers a distance of 4.6 Miles.
The race uses a staggered-start format: individual start times are assigned using a secret formula that incorporates performance from previous Winter Series races. The format is designed so that participants aim to cross the finish line at the same moment. Because start times are adjusted based on prior results, overall victory can come from an improved performance rather than raw speed alone.
About the Winter Series: it began in 1978 and comprises 11 weekly races from December through February, weather permitting. Annual BCRR membership is required prior to registering for the full series; membership and series registration open in the fall.
Single event registration is separate from series registration. Non-members may register for single races onsite on race day only. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
