Event overview
The Staggered Start 4.6 Miler is scheduled for February 22, 2026, in Newtown, Pennsylvania. The course distance is 4.6 miles. The event is described as the final race in the Winter Series and uses a staggered start format: runners are assigned start positions by a secret formula that uses performance from previous Winter Series races so that competitors are intended to finish together. The format means overall placing can depend on adjusted starts as well as running performance. The single-race entry fee is listed as $25.
Series, eligibility and location
The race takes place at Tyler State Park, 101 Swamp Road, Newtown, PA 18940. The BCRR Winter Series runs weekly from December through February (weather permitting) and includes 11 races. Annual Bucks County Roadrunners (BCRR) membership is required to register for the entire series; single-race participation does not require membership. Single-event registration for non-members is available onsite on race day only. To be eligible for series awards, participants must meet the series requirement of at least one race and one volunteer assignment. The course is subject to change based on weather and park conditions. The event is organized by Bucks County Roadrunners, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization.
