St Valentines 30k, Stamford Striders
The St Valentines 30k is an annual road race organised by Stamford Striders, held on the Sunday closest to St Valentine’s Day. The 2027 race is the 33rd running of the event. The course is a scenic, rural route certified as accurate and licensed by UKA.
Race HQ, start and finish are at Stamford Welland Academy, Green Lane, Stamford. Parking is provided in several off-road car parks; the furthest car park is about a 10–15 minute walk (approximately a 6–7 minute warm-up jog) from Race HQ. Signs and marshals direct runners to parking areas.
Entry is online only and limited to entrants aged 18 or over. Race numbers with timing chips are issued from Race HQ at registration; medical and contact details should be written on the reverse of the race number. Transfers of entries are permitted through the event system under set procedures.
Facilities at Race HQ include toilets, manned baggage storage, pre- and post-race massages for charity, hot and cold refreshments and professional medical services. There are no separate changing rooms or hot showers.
Water stations are provided at roughly every 5 km and will offer jelly babies. Headset use follows UKA rules: in-ear and over-ear earphones are not allowed; bone conductor headsets may be used only if the wearer can fully hear ambient traffic and marshal instructions. The race cut off is four hours, subject to the Safety Officer’s decision. Prizes are awarded by gender categories and for Valentine pairs, and a cash prize is offered for breaking the open course records. In the event of cancellation refunds will be available.
