St Valentines 30k : Stamford Striders
The Stamford Striders St Valentine event is an annual 30k road race held in Stamford, Lincolnshire. The 2027 race is the 33rd running and takes place on Sunday 14 February 2027. The race is certified accurate and holds a UKA race licence.
Race HQ, start and finish are at Stamford Welland Academy, Green Lane, Stamford PE9 1HE. Race numbers with timing chips are issued from Race HQ at registration. Registration is open on the Saturday before the race for number and chip collection and again on race day morning. Entry is online only with no on-the-day admissions. Entrants must be 18 years or older. Individual place transfers are allowed via the entries system; the organisers offer an option to purchase insurance.
The course is described as a scenic rural route. Water stations are placed at about every 5 km and jelly babies are provided at those stations. A headset policy follows standard UKA rules: in ear and over ear earphones are not allowed while bone conductor headsets may be used if the runner can still hear ambient traffic and marshal instructions.
Facilities at Race HQ include toilets, manned baggage storage, refreshments, pre- and post-race massages for charity and professional medical cover. There are no separate changing facilities or showers. The organiser sets a four hour cut off time, subject to the Safety Officer on the day. Prize categories include male and female positions and Valentine couple prizes, and there is a cash prize for breaking the open men and ladies course records.
