St Valentines 30k
The Stamford Striders St Valentines race is a club-organised 30k held annually on the Sunday closest to St Valentine’s Day. The 2027 event is the 33rd running. The race HQ, start and finish are at Stamford Welland Academy, Green Lane, Stamford, Lincolnshire PE9 1HE.
The course is certified accurate and the event holds a UKA licence. The route is described as pleasant, scenic and rural. Water stations are placed at approximately every 5 km and jelly babies are provided at the stations. The cut off time for the course is four hours subject to the Safety Officer’s decision on the day.
Entry is online only, minimum age 18 years. The organisers operate a no refunds policy for entrants but offer an option to buy individual insurance and run a transfer system to move a place to another runner or to someone on the waiting list. Race numbers with timing chips are issued from Race HQ at registration; gun to chip is used for prize timings and chip to chip is available in published results.
Facilities at Race HQ include toilets, manned baggage storage, pre- and post-race massages for charity donations, hot and cold refreshments and professional medical services. There are no separate changing facilities or showers. A Valentine Pair category records combined times for genuine couples and a cash prize is offered for breaking the open men’s or ladies course records.
