Run for Cake - Ferry Meadows, Peterborough
Run for Cake takes place at Ferry Meadows country park (Ham Lane, PE2 5UU). The event offers two timed formats: a six-hour option and a four-hour option. Competitors run repeated laps of a measured 5.3 km loop through forest sections, gravel footpaths and grass areas - a multi-terrain course.
A central Race HQ / Base Camp sits at the start and lap point with an aid station available each lap. Participants can rest between laps and return to the course as time allows. The organiser permits an additional lap if a runner leaves Base Camp before the event cut-off.
Standard lap guidance lists a half marathon as five laps (options to change on the day) and an ultramarathon as nine laps with the possibility to increase laps according to available time. Baggage may be left at a designated area but is left at the runner's own risk. Parking at the park is chargeable.
Terrain is country park footpaths and grass; organisers suggest road trainers but trail shoes may be preferable if conditions are wet. A bespoke event medal is provided to those who select that option; a non-specific finisher medal is available as an alternative. Virtual places for medal-only entries are offered. This is a cupless event so participants should bring their own bottle or cup.
