Event Details
Run for Cake is a timed running event held at Ferry Meadows country park in Peterborough. This is the event's fourth year at this location. Participants can choose a 6-hour timed event starting at 9:00, or a 4-hour timed event starting at 11:00. The objective is to complete as many laps as possible within the chosen time limit. A runner can start a final lap as long as they leave the Base Camp before the cutoff time.
The Course
The course is a 5.3 km multi-terrain lap through the forest. It consists of gravel footpaths and some grass areas, and is described as undulating. The race is suitable for those aiming to complete various distances, from a first official 5k to an ultra-marathon. It offers straightforward logistics, with an aid station available every lap at the Base Camp.
Venue and Logistics
The event is held at Ferry Meadows, one of the largest country parks in the region. Parking is available on-site for an additional charge. Race registration, the start/finish arch, and the baggage drop (items left at own risk) will be located near the main toilet block. The organizer recommends road running shoes, but trail shoes may be useful depending on weather conditions.
Other Information
All finishers receive a bespoke event medal, unless they select the "Lucky Dip Finishers Medal" option, which provides a random medal from a previous event. The event has a maximum of 300 entrants, with a minimum age requirement of 18. Entry closes on 5 February 2027. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
