Run for Cake : Ferry Meadows
Run for Cake returns for its fifth year at Ferry Meadows, a large country park near Peterborough. The event is offered in two timed formats, during which participants run as many laps as they wish on a 5.3 km loop through woodland. The course uses gravel footpaths and some grass areas, so it is described as a multi-terrain route.
Participants may rest between laps and rejoin the course. Standard distance examples from the event format include a half marathon set at five laps and an ultra set at nine laps, with options to increase laps on the day (for example up to 12 laps). An aid station is available at the Race HQ/Base Camp at the start and lap point; the organisers describe straightforward logistics with minimal navigation and no mandatory kit.
Practical details provided by the organiser include chargeable parking at the park, the location of the start arch and gazebos beside the main toilet block and parking payment machines, and on-site race registration for bib collection. The event offers a bespoke finisher medal unless a non-event finisher medal option is chosen. Virtual places are available for those who want the medal but cannot attend in person. The event is cupless, so participants are asked to bring their own bottles or cups for refilling. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
