Event overview
Run for Cake is a timed lap event organised by Zig Zag Running at Ferry Meadows, Peterborough. The event is offered in both 6-hour and 4-hour formats. Participants run repeated laps of a set course and may rest between laps. A bespoke event medal is available, and a non-specific "lucky dip" finisher medal option is also offered. Virtual entries are available for those who cannot attend in person. Maximum entrants: 300. Minimum age: 18 years. Entry fees range from £34.00 to £38.00.
Location and course
The event takes place at Ferry Meadows, Ham Lane, Peterborough, PE2 5UU. The course is a multi-terrain lap of 5.3 km combining gravel footpaths and grass areas. Typical distance structures given by the organiser:
- 5k
- 10k
- Half marathon (standard listed as 5 laps, with option to change)
- Full marathon
- Ultra (standard listed as 9 laps, with option to increase up to 12)
The Race HQ and aid station are located at the start and lap point. An aid station is available every lap. The organiser describes the route as requiring little or no navigation and no mandatory kit. The event is cupless - participants should bring their own bottle or cup for refilling.
Facilities and practical information
Parking at the park is chargeable. Race registration and bib collection are situated near the main toilet block by the start arch and gazebos.
