Run for Cake : Ferry Meadows, Peterborough
Run for Cake is scheduled at Ferry Meadows, Ham Lane, Peterborough, PE2 5UU. The event returns for its fourth year at this country park, which the organiser describes as one of the largest in the region.
The format offers either a six hour or a four hour timed event. Competitors complete repeated laps of a 5.3 km course that runs through forest and country park footpaths. The lap surface combines gravel paths and some grass sections, making it a multi-terrain route. A Race HQ/Base Camp and an aid station are located at the lap point; an aid station is available every lap. Navigation is straightforward and no mandatory kit is required.
Entrants may run as many laps as they wish and may rest between laps. Baggage storage is provided but is left at the participant’s own risk. The organiser suggests road trainers for typical conditions, with trail shoes optional depending on recent weather.
Practical notes from the organiser: parking at the park is chargeable, the start arch and registration area are visible from the main toilet block and parking payment machines, and bibs are collected at race registration. Entries are taken via EventEntry and are subject to the organiser’s terms and conditions. Maximum field size is 300 and minimum age is 18. Virtual entry places and various medal options are offered.
