St. Rita 5K & Fun Run for Education
The St. Rita 5K and 1K Kids Fun Run take place in Alexandria on November 14, 2026 to support St. Rita Catholic School. The event is set in the Potomac Yard neighborhood with a route that is described as flat, fast, and tree lined.
The course is an out and back along Main Line Boulevard and Potomac Avenue, with start and finish located behind George Washington Middle School (enter via Mt. Vernon Ave.). The 1K is untimed and chip timers are not used for that distance. Strollers are welcome and there is no bag check.

Packet pickup occurs on the two days before the event at St. Rita School and on race morning at the registration table near the start line; guaranteed student-designed t-shirts are available for participants who registered by October 28, 2026, with limited shirts for later registrants. Awards include cash, gift cards, and medals for overall and age group finishers across open, masters (40+), and youth categories. Gustave Boulangerie will offer coffee and light refreshments. The event notes easy access to the Braddock Road Metro and free parking is available. Fundraising proceeds support classroom and teacher programs and monthly appreciation events at the school.
