St. Peter's Fiesta 5K Road Race
The St. Peter's Fiesta 5K Road Race is a community running event held in Gloucester, Massachusetts. The course begins at Stage Fort Park and leads participants toward the center of the city's annual St. Peter’s Festival. The finish line is located at the Fiesta Carnival, where spectators gather to support the runners.
The event offers several participation categories:
- 5 km (Adult)
- 5 km (Child - 13 and under)
- 5 km (Wheelchair)
The race route is inclusive, as the course is stroller and dog friendly, provided dogs are well-behaved. The Glen T. MacLeod Cape Ann YMCA organizes the event to support local community programming, including youth development and swim safety.
Logistical arrangements include free parking at Stage Fort Park. Professional timing services are used to record results, which are posted at the finish line and emailed to participants. Medals are awarded to the top male and female overall finishers, the top three finishers in various age brackets ranging from 13 and under to 70+, and the top three finishers in the non-binary and wheelchair categories. Additionally, special prizes are designated for the fastest male and female Gloucester residents. Participants can collect event t-shirts on a first-come, first-served basis during scheduled pre-race pick-up times at the YMCA or on race day at the park.
