St Peter Turkey Trot
The St Peter Turkey Trot is the 15th annual community running event held on November 7, 2026, at St Peter Lutheran School in Hemlock, Michigan. The event offers two USATF sanctioned distances that begin and end on the school track. USATF sanctioning indicates an organized safety plan, purchased event insurance, and official race results.
Both routes use flat, mostly paved country roads in the Hemlock area. The course is an out and back from the school track; the 10K includes a short stretch of hard-packed gravel. Routes proceed along Raucholz Road and return via Lunney Road before finishing with a lap on the track.
Post-race amenities include t-shirts, custom finisher medals, free online finisher photos, professional timing, and refreshments such as caramel apples from Jacques Orchard, string cheese, strawberry goggurt, and milk provided by the United Dairy Industry of Michigan. Age group awards are offered and overall male and female winners in the 5K and 10K receive turkeys; top youth winners receive apple pies. There are additional awards and discounts for next year’s entry for top finishers.
Registration allows participants to decline a shirt to save $5. Guaranteed shirt sizes require registration by October 25; shirts not picked up during packet pickup will be forfeited. All proceeds benefit students at St Peter Lutheran School, a 501(c)(3) organization.
