About the race
The St Peter Turkey Trot is the 15th annual community race held at St Peter Lutheran School in Hemlock, Michigan on November 7, 2026. The event offers USATF sanctioned road races on a flat, out-and-back country course that begins and ends on the school's outdoor track. Most roads are paved; the 10K includes a short stretch of hard-packed gravel.

The event includes age group awards and overall awards. Overall male and female winners in both distances receive turkeys, plaques, and free entry to the following year; top youth winners receive apple pies. Additional place awards include plaques and discounted future registration. A drawing for gift baskets is held after the race.
Included amenities listed by the organizers are race shirts (option to decline and save $5), custom finisher medals, professional timing, and free online finisher photos. Post-race refreshments for participants and children include caramel apples from Jacques Orchard, string cheese, strawberry gogurt, and chocolate and white milk provided by the United Dairy Industry of Michigan.
Registration opens August 21, 2026 and closes online November 6, 2026; late on-site registration is available during packet pickup with an additional $5 processing fee. Packet pickup and on-site registration occur at St Peter Lutheran School and Church the morning of the event. All proceeds benefit students at St Peter Lutheran School, a 501(c)(3) organization.
