10th Annual St Patrick's Day Run
The St Patrick's Day Run is a holiday-themed athletic event held at the Woodward Park Shinzen Activity Area in Fresno, California. This annual tradition features multiple participation options centered around a festive atmosphere with Irish music and high-energy celebrations. The event serves as a fundraiser for the Art of Life Cancer Foundation.
Participants can choose from several event distances and formats:
- Shamrock 4 Mile Run/Walk: A competitive and festive route that serves as a 10-point race in the Cal Classic Runner of the Year Series.
- Green 2 Miler: A shorter distance designed for walkers and participants of various experience levels.
- Virtual Run: An option for those unable to attend the physical location in person.
Registered participants receive several commemorative items, including a green event shirt, a green finisher medallion, and various themed goodies. The event utilizes chip timing for both distances, and age group awards are presented to top performers.
The venue includes a post-race celebration featuring a green beer garden for participants aged 21 and over. Attendees are encouraged to wear green attire to participate in the costume contest and various spirit-based competitions. The event is stroller-friendly, though dogs are not permitted on the course for safety reasons. Team registration is available for groups wishing to compete for a spirit award based on team size.
