The Original St. Patrick's Day Road Race
The Original St. Patrick's Day Road Race is scheduled for March 14, 2027 in Calgary and marks the 40th annual running of the event. The venue for 2027 is Bishop Pinkham Junior High School, a change made because Central Memorial High School is undergoing renovations.
The event offers two road race distances:
- 5K road race
- 10K road race
Event capacity is limited to 600 participants. The main gym can hold 367 people and a heated tent will be rented for overflow. The first 40 registered participants receive a special CA$40 rate. New pricing for 2027 includes a CA$15 discount for participants under 17 and a CA$10 discount for participants over 70; these discounts are applied automatically at checkout.
The race supports Diabetes Canada and the Calgary Road Runners; the fundraising goal is CA$5,000 with no funds raised shown at the time of this listing. Race packages are available for pickup on March 11 and March 12 at Strides Marda Loop in the evening, and on March 13 at Strides Fish Creek. Out of town participants can collect packages at late registration on race morning at Bishop Pinkham.
