About the race
St. Matthew's 5K Run/Walk is scheduled for October 24, 2026 at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, 9275 Bringle Ferry Rd., Salisbury, NC. The course starts and ends at the church. A half mile fun run follows the 5K on the same day.

Registration fees are specified by the organizer: the 5K fee is listed as $20 by mail or online before the event and $25 for on-site registration the day of the event. The fun run fee is listed as $10. The event is an approved Thrivent Action Team Event; Thrivent donated $250 for refreshments. All funds raised will go to support two local community members with medical and essential needs.
Awards for the 5K include top two overall male and female finishers and top three in multiple age divisions for male and female runners. Overall winners are not eligible for age group awards and awards will not be mailed. Fun run awards include top overall male and female, with medals for other fun run finishers.
T-shirts are provided: 5K participants receive a Dri Fit technical T shirt, and pre registered fun run participants receive a cotton t shirt. Check in and race packet pick up take place at the church. Timing and scoring for the 5K will be provided by Salisbury Rowan Runners.
In case of inclement weather, the race may be delayed by one hour and the organizer reserves the right to cancel any portion of the event for safety reasons. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
