St. Mary's Steps for Hope 5K Run/Walk and Kids Obstacle Course
St. Mary’s Steps for Hope is a community event held on October 11, 2026, on the Bates College campus in Lewiston, Maine. The program includes a 5K run, a 5K walk, and a separate Kids Obstacle Course for children up to age 12. The 5K run is a timed event; the 5K walk is offered as a noncompetitive route at participants’ own pace.
Registration details differ by event. For the 5K run and 5K walk registration opens on April 1, 2026, and closes July 31, 2026; the registration fee for each is $20. Registration for the Kids Obstacle Course opens April 1, 2026, and closes October 9, 2026; the fee is $10. Children who take part in the obstacle course receive a t-shirt and a participant medal and are eligible for a prize drawing.
All funds raised through the event support expansion of behavioral health programs at St. Mary’s. The event aims to grow access to services for people across Maine who require hospitalization because of serious mental illness. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
