St. Louis Triathlon
The St. Louis Triathlon is a USAT-sanctioned event held at Creve Coeur Park in Maryland Heights. This multi-sport competition serves as a State Championship race and offers a wide variety of distances and disciplines. Participants can choose between individual entries, relay teams of two to three people, or specific categories such as Athena, Clydesdale, and High School divisions.
Available race options include:
- Sprint Triathlon: 750m swim, 20k bike, and 5k run.
- Olympic Triathlon: 1 mile swim, 40k bike, and 10k run.
- Sprint Duathlon: 3k run, 20k bike, and 5k run.
- Olympic Duathlon: 5k run, 40k bike, and 10k run.
- Aquabike (Sprint/Olympic): Swim and bike portions only.
- Aquathlon (Sprint/Olympic): Swim and run portions only.
- 6K Run/Walk: One loop around Creve Coeur Lake.
- Sprint Paratriathlon: 750m swim, 20km bike, and 5km run.
The swim takes place in the lake with athletes starting in waves. The bike course utilizes local roads and highways, while the run course stays within the park grounds. Aid stations providing water and electrolyte drinks are located along the run course, though the bike course is self-sufficient.
Registered participants receive a race t-shirt, swim cap, and a finisher medal. The event includes a post-race festival with music, food, and drinks under the Tremayne Shelter.
