St. Jude's 5K Run and Walk
The Spanish Honor Society at Montgomery High School hosts the inaugural St. Jude's 5K Run/Walk in Montgomery, Texas. This community event serves as a fundraiser where all profits are donated to St. Jude's Children's Cancer Research Center to support childhood cancer research and families in need. The event features two distinct distances:
- 5K run or walk
- 400m kids quarter mile
Registration for participants includes a commemorative T-shirt and a finishers medal. While the event is open to various ages, children participating in the 400m race must be accompanied by an adult. Participants are asked to specify their shirt size during the registration process.
The event includes competitive elements and recreational activities at the venue. The top three male and female finishers in the 5K receive an additional winners medal based on their order of completion. In addition to the races, the event site features a snow cone truck, face painting, balloon animals, and raffles.
