River Bluff Trail Runs
River Bluff Trail Runs is a trail running event in St. Joseph, Missouri, organized by the Pony Express Trail Runners. The course uses trails in River Bluff Trail Park and Krug Park and features looped routes based at the McArthur parking lot, 1599 Douglas McArthur Dr.
Distances
- 50k two 15.5 mile loops, about 4000 ft total gain
- 25k one 15.5 mile loop, about 2000 ft gain
- 10k shorter single loop option
The surface is primarily smooth dirt with some roots, rocky sections, and crushed gravel paths. The route runs along the bluffs next to the Missouri River and includes steep terrain. Each loop is signed and the course will be well marked. A map and a Strava link are to be provided later.
Manned aid stations are located roughly every 4 miles and offer water and snacks. Runners may leave a monitored drop bag at the start. Packet pickup is available the day before at Tubes bike shop and on race day at the start area.
This is a trail event on uneven and steep terrain; participants are responsible for their own safety. The course is also used by cyclists so runners should use caution. Registrations are non refundable and transfers or deferrals may be considered at the Race Director's discretion. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
