River Bluff Trail Runs - St. Joseph, MO
River Bluff Trail Runs is a trail race organized by the Pony Express Trail Runners in St. Joseph, Missouri, using River Bluff trails and Krug Park. The event offers multiple distance options over natural singletrack, crushed gravel, and park paths that include root and rocky sections.
The course layout:
- 50k - two 15.5 mile loops
- 25k - one 15.5 mile loop
- 10k - shorter option on the same trails
Each full loop has about 2000 feet of elevation gain, for roughly 4000 feet total on the 50k. Runners follow trails along bluffs next to the Missouri River; some sections are steep. The course will be well marked. Manned aid stations are located approximately every 4 miles and will supply water and snacks. Runners may leave a monitored drop bag at the start for aid station use.
Packet pickup is available early at a local bike shop on Frederick Avenue and at the start area on race day. All participants receive a shirt; finishers of the 25k and 50k receive additional items. Registrations are non-refundable; transfers or deferrals may be considered by the race director. A course map and a Strava link will be provided at a later date.
