12th Annual Run/Walk for the Paws 5K : Saint Joseph, MO
The event offers three options: a 5K Run/Walk TIMED with a chip timer, a 5K Run/Walk NOT TIMED without a chip, and a VIRTUAL 5K (run or walk 3.1 miles on your own). Registration is $30 on or before March 25, 2026 and $35 after that date. Registering by March 25 guarantees an event t-shirt; t-shirts must be picked up on the morning of the event and unclaimed shirts will be redistributed to late registrants. Registration is optional for children ages four and under unless a t-shirt is requested.
Packet pick-up is available the day before the race and on race morning at the start location near Bode Ice Arena. The race starts in the parking lot across from Bode Ice Arena, 2500 Southwest Parkway, Saint Joseph, MO 64503. Parking will be available in Phil Welch Stadium parking lots, the Rec Center, or grassy lots across the street.
The course is wheelchair accessible with some uphill sections. Participants proceed from the start along Southwest Parkway to Bartlett Park, then return to the start. The event is dog-friendly when dogs are social and have current rabies vaccinations. Water and snacks will be provided at the start and finish; volunteers will hand out water along the course. Awards for first, second and third places are given for male and female runners in standard age groups and for dog finishers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
