Event Overview
The Run/Walk for the Paws 5K is an event that includes both a 5K run/walk and a virtual option. It is a dog-friendly event in Saint Joseph, Missouri.
Race Details
The in-person race starts in a parking lot across from the Bode Ice Arena on Southwest Parkway. The course follows the scenic Southwest Parkway to Bartlett Park before turning back to the start line. The course is described as handicap accessible with some uphill areas.
Participants can choose from three event types:
- A timed 5K with chip timing provided by ShowMe Running Company, offering instant results and finish line photos.
- A non-timed 5K.
- A virtual 5K to be completed independently.
Additional Information
Late registration and packet pickup are available on race day. Packet pickup is also offered the day before the event at a local brewery. The registration fee is $30 until March 25, 2026, and increases to $35 after that date. Registering by March 25 guarantees an event t-shirt, which must be picked up on the morning of the event.
Local businesses and organizations will have booths at the event. Water and snacks are available at the start/finish area, with volunteers providing water along the course. Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers in several age groups, as well as to the top three dog finishers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
