St. Bernadette Turkey Trot : event description
The event is a community running and walking event based at St. Bernadette School, 1001 Turner Avenue, Drexel Hill, PA 19026. The in-person program includes a single-loop 5K course that starts and finishes at the school and runs through a tree-lined neighborhood on Bond and Turner Avenues. The in-person 5K is professionally chip timed by Bryn Mawr Racing.
The event lineup also includes a 1-Mile Family Fun Walk and a Dumpling Dash for children aged 10 and younger. Virtual options mirror the in-person offerings, with participants able to complete the 5K or 1-Mile from any location during the designated virtual period and submit a time online for a commemorative certificate. The RaceJoy app is used to map the traditional route for virtual participants or to record alternative routes.
Registered participants receive a commemorative Turkey Trot T-shirt; children registered for multiple youth events receive one shirt. Medals are awarded to the fastest in each age group for the in-person 5K. The event also offers an option to create fundraising pages to support St. Bernadette School.
