St Anne's Triathlon
St Anne's Triathlon is scheduled to return in 2028 and is based at Fleetwood Leisure Centre on the Esplanade, Fleetwood FY7 6HF. The event uses closed roads along the Fleetwood promenade and describes the course as flat and fast. Chip timing, medals and prizes are provided. The event is open to adults and to children in Tri Star age groups.
Swimming takes place in an indoor heated 25 m pool with set distances for each category:
- Adults / Youth: 400 m (16 lengths)
- Tri Start: 50 m (2 lengths)
- Tri Star 1: 150 m (6 lengths)
- Tri Star 2: 200 m (8 lengths)
- Tri Star 3: 300 m (12 lengths)
The bike course starts by exiting transition to the Esplanade, turning left and performing a U turn at Balmoral Terrace. Adults complete four laps with each lap approximately 5 km. Youth participants complete two full laps for a 10 km route. Riders must dismount at the mount line on return to transition, rack their bike and only then remove their helmet.
The run follows the sea wall pavement past local landmarks including the lakes and the golf course with clearly marked turning points for children and adults. Participants are required to hold a race licence; single use race passes or an annual membership are accepted under the governing body rules.
