SSG Tanner Grone Memorial 5k
The event is the second annual memorial 5K held in Gorham, New Hampshire, dedicated to honoring the life and legacy of SSG Tanner Grone. It is organized to celebrate community, family, and friendships and to raise funds to support a Gorham and Berlin High School senior who shares values important to him.
The in-person 5K course begins at the SSG Tanner Grone Soccer Field at 46 Libby St and proceeds through town. The route passes the participant's childhood home and the schools he attended, offering a course tied to local landmarks. Post-race offerings include light refreshments, music, and yard games.
There are multiple participation options, including in-person and virtual choices, and a separate organized 3.1-mile Nightstalker event at Fort Campbell for participants running with that group. The virtual option is intended for people running or walking remotely and is free to register.
The race takes place annually in July to mark the month that began the honoree's military service. Registration is managed separately for each event option. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
