Sri Chinmoy Mara-Fun Relays - Centennial Park, Sydney
The Sri Chinmoy Mara-Fun Relays is a marathon event held on 18 October 2026 in Centennial Park, Sydney. The event covers the official marathon distance of 42.2 km, offered either as a solo marathon or as a relay for teams of two, three or four members. The course uses a 4 km loop around the ponds and groves in the park's southwestern precinct. The full marathon comprises an initial partial lap of 2.2 km followed by ten full 4 km loops, for a total of 11 legs.
Relay teams use a timing baton that contains the electronic chip; each baton must be carried by the active runner and exchanged within a designated change-over zone at the end of every loop. No runner may run consecutive legs, and each team member must complete at least one leg and may run up to six legs. Teams record the names and running order on a form issued at registration and must return the form and baton on completion. A fee applies for non-return of any baton or timing chip.
There are solo age-group categories and relay divisions with age-based categories. Relay divisions are All-Female, Mixed (requires a minimum number of female legs), and Open; each division includes All Ages, All-Over 50 and All-Over 60 categories. Electronic chip timing provides full split times for every leg. Refreshment stations with water, sports drink and fruit are placed approximately every 2 km. Free parking is available along Grand Drive and a post-event pancake breakfast is provided for participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
