Sri Chinmoy Mara-Fun Relays at Centennial Park, Sydney
The Sri Chinmoy Mara-Fun Relays stage a full marathon distance of 42.2 km in Centennial Park, Sydney on 18 October 2026. Runners may complete the distance solo or share it in relay teams of two, three or four members. The event uses a 4 km loop through the park's ponds and groves with a first partial loop of 2.2 km followed by ten full loops, making eleven legs in total.
Refreshment stations supply water, sports drink and fruit every 2 km. Electronic chip timing records full splits for every leg; the timing chip is attached to the team baton. Each baton must be carried by the active runner and exchanged inside the designated change-over zone at the end of every loop. No relay runner may run consecutive legs. Each team member must complete at least one leg and may run up to six legs. Teams nominate a team name and a team captain on the entry form and record the sequence of runners for submission at the finish. A fee applies for non-return of any baton or timing chip.
Solo runners compete in age-based categories for males and females. Relay competition is organised into All-Female, Mixed and Open divisions, with separate categories for all ages and all-over age groups. The event provides awards by category, medallions for solo finishers and a full post-event pancake breakfast for participants. Free parking is available along Grand Drive within Centennial Park.
