Sri Chinmoy 5K, Half-Marathon & Relay (May)
The event takes place on 8 May 2027 at Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens, New York. It offers a USATF certified, scenic and mostly flat loop around Meadow Lake that passes the Unisphere, Fountain of the Planets, Queens Zoo, New York State Pavilion and the Queens Museum of Art.
Distances offered:
- 5K: one loop of the certified course.
- Half marathon: one 5K loop plus three 5.37K loops.
- Half marathon relay: teams of 2 to 4 members.
On-course services and amenities include bag check, aid stations approximately every mile, free parking, free finisher photos, custom finisher medals and a post-race pancake breakfast. The giveaway is a Sri Chinmoy Races 20-liter packable backpack, guaranteed for participants registered three weeks before the race; leftover backpacks will be distributed after the race while supplies last.
Entry details note that there is no race-day registration and entries cannot be transferred. Relay teams must register all members online before the registration deadline. Age rules: the 5K and half marathon relay are open to ages 13 and up; the half marathon is open to ages 16 and up. Time limits are one hour for the 5K and 3 hours 15 minutes for the half marathon. Results are posted within 24 hours. If the in-person event is canceled for reasons beyond organizer control, the event will convert to a virtual format and race giveaways, medals and trophies will be mailed as appropriate.
