About the race
The Sri Chinmoy Fun-Runs are held twice a year at Acton Park on the northern shore of Lake Burley Griffin, using the signposted, measured Sri Chinmoy 10 km Recreational Running Course along the cycle path. The event has been run since 1984 and follows a permanent, marked course used for recreational and competitive results.
The program features distance options:
- 10 km
- 4 km
A family atmosphere accompanies the runs, including a post-race pancake breakfast and an awards presentation. Medals are given to top placegetters and age-group awards are allocated across multiple categories for both men and women in the 10 km and 4 km events. The races use permanent Sri Chinmoy race number bibs; a permanent bib is required to record a result and new permanent bibs are issued on race day for those purchasing one with their entry.
Events are described as twice-annual with example dates including early March and a Labour Day event in October. The course is established, measured, and marked, and historical results and course records for both distances are maintained from past years.
