Sri Chinmoy 5K Races in Battersea Park
The Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team organises a short series of 5K races in Battersea Park. The organiser has planned three 5K events across the season and an annual relay on 21 July. The team has been running events in London since 1981 and provides volunteers and race management for each meeting.
The 5K course is two laps on traffic-free avenues inside Battersea Park. The course is UK Athletics certified and is manually timed to UKA standards. The race headquarters is on Carriage Drive East between the Boating Lake and the Millennium Arena running track, about 30 metres from Pear Tree Cafe. The start line is approximately 300 metres from the Race HQ.
All entrants must register online. Race numbers are mailed by post the week before the event. Registration closes three days before each race or when the race is full. A baggage drop is available at Race HQ; valuables are left at the entrant's risk. Minimum age to enter is 12 years.
Facilities noted for these events include public toilets in the park, free parking inside Rosary Gate Car Park or Chelsea Gate Car Park after 5pm, and showers and changing rooms at the Millennium Arena for £3. Entry fees are listed in the range of £8 to £10. Results record Male and Female ranking categories while also capturing non-binary times in the overall results to comply with international athletics rules.
