The OPP Halloween 3K - Redhill
The first OPP Halloween 3K takes place on the newly designed 3 km obstacle course at OPP. The event is presented as a fairly relaxed affair that includes technical obstacles and a focus on the fun element. Participants may encounter attachments and obstacle types that are new to them.
Athletes start in waves of ten, set at 30 minute intervals, and complete two laps of 1.5 km each. Organisers plan for up to three waves if numbers allow; entrants can select a preferred wave but organisers may consolidate waves if participation is low.
Failures to complete an obstacle incur a penalty of ten burpees performed on site rather than use of bands. Some obstacles are mandatory. If there are insufficient volunteers to watch obstacles, those penalties will be handled as honesty burpees, with oversight for miscounts or clear errors by the Grim Reapers, identified as the Race Director or Head TO.
Runners should expect a few surprises during the course and may wear Halloween costume. A headtorch is mandatory to take part and this requirement will be strictly enforced. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
