Sri Chinmoy 5K Races in Battersea Park
The Sri Chinmoy Marathon Team has been organizing athletic events in London since 1981. This series consists of three separate 5 km races held during the spring and summer months in Battersea Park. The events are named the Dashing Deer 5K, the Hasty Hare 5K, and the Kangaroo Hop 5K.
The course is a UK Athletics certified accurate route consisting of two laps on traffic-free avenues within the park. Timing is conducted manually to UKA standards. The course is noted for being flat and runner-friendly. The minimum age for participation is 12 years old.
The race headquarters is located on Carriage Drive East, situated between the Boating Lake and the Millennium Arena running track. Facilities available to participants include a baggage drop area at the race headquarters and public toilets within the park. Showers and changing rooms are available for a fee at the Millennium Arena.
Participants must register online, as registration closes three days before the event or when the race reaches capacity. Race numbers and baggage tags are delivered by post to participants the week before the race. The start line is located 300 meters from the headquarters. Free parking is available inside the park at Rosary Gate or Chelsea Gate car parks after 5pm. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
