NYCRUNS Squirrel Stampede 10K
The NYCRUNS Squirrel Stampede 10K is scheduled for September 12, 2026, on Governors Island in New York. The USATF-certified 10 km course consists of two loops around the island and offers harbor views. Race entry includes ferry rides for the participant and accompanying guests, an official race tech shirt, and post-race food that does not contain nuts.
The Festival Area is a short walk from the ferry terminal and serves as bib and shirt pickup, bag check, bathroom facilities, and post-race refreshment space. Bibs are available for pick up on race morning using a unique QR code; NYCRUNS members may request free bib mailing if they register 20 or more days before the event and provide a U.S. mailing address. Shirt mailing is not provided.
Start corrals are assigned by pace and labeled AA through F; the corral appears on the bib and is set from the pace listed in the NYCRUNS dashboard. On-course amenities include water and electrolyte fluids, portable bathrooms, bag check (single clear bag policy with the right to search), and post-race fruit and bagels. Event photography includes one free image and optional paid photo packages.
Handcycle and wheelchair athletes are not advised to enter due to numerous course turns. Results will be emailed and posted online. Awards are given to top three male, female, and non-binary overall finishers by gun time, with age-group awards by net/chip time. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
