NYCRUNS Squirrel Stampede 10K - Governors Island
The event is a 10 km road race held on Governors Island, consisting of two loops of the island on a USATF-certified course. Race entry includes ferry rides for the runner and their guests, a race bib, and a tech race shirt. Post-race refreshments include water, electrolyte fluids, fresh fruit, and a bagel.
A Festival Area near the ferry terminal serves as bib and shirt pick-up, bag check, and the post-race gathering point. Portable bathrooms will be available. Bag check requires a single clear bag; organizers reserve the right to search bag contents. Photos are provided after the event by an event photographer.
Bib distribution is primarily on race morning via a unique QR code; NYCRUNS members may receive mailed bibs at no cost when registered early. Mailed bibs are available for an additional fee for non-members if registration occurs at least 20 days before the event and the mailing address is in the United States. Shirts are available for pick-up on race day only and sizes are not guaranteed.
Due to many turns on the course, handcycle and wheelchair athletes are advised not to register. Results are emailed and posted online after the race. Standard event policies apply, including no-refunds and no-transfers; members have specific withdrawal and credit options.
