NYCRUNS Squirrel Stampede 10K
The NYCRUNS Squirrel Stampede is a 10 km road race held on Governors Island in New York. The course consists of two loops around the island and is USATF certified. Race entry includes ferry rides for the runner and accompanying family or friends, an official tech race shirt, and post race food that is nut free.
A Festival Area near the ferry terminal serves as bib and shirt pickup, bag check, restroom access, and the pre- and post-race gathering point. Portable bathrooms will be available. Water and electrolyte fluids are provided on course and at the finish. Post race refreshments include fresh fruit and a bagel.
Start corrals are pace based and assigned by letter (AA-F) using the pace listed on a runner’s NYCRUNS Dashboard. Bibs and shirts are available for pick up in the Festival Area on race morning with a unique QR code. NYCRUNS members may have bibs mailed at no additional cost if they register early and provide a U.S. mailing address. Non-members may add bib mailing for a fee; shirts are not mailed.
Bag check requires a single clear bag (18 x 24 inches). Race photos are provided after the event by MarathonFoto. Handcycle and wheelchair athletes are not advised to register because of the number of turns on the course. Results are emailed and posted online. Awards are given to top finishers overall and in specified age groups. Standard event policies and time limits apply. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
