Squak Mountain Trail Runs : April 18, 2026
Squak Mountain Trail Runs is organized by Evergreen Trail Runs at Squak Mountain State Park, 21492 SE May Valley Rd, Issaquah, Washington. Distances offered include:
- 12K
- Half marathon
- 50K
- Kids Race (0.5 mi)
- 12K Brunch Run
The event takes place on established singletrack within a forested park. Trails pass moss-covered trees, ferns, and streams and offer views of the surrounding mountains. Trails are open to other users during the event, including hikers and equestrians on the first small loop. A Discover Pass is required to park at the trailhead. Parking at the May Valley Loop trailhead is limited; when the lot fills, parking is available on S.E. 135th St. Do not park on May Valley Rd. All races are cupless - participants must carry a refillable container.
Course and logistics
The event uses three primary loops: a 12K loop, a half-marathon loop, and a 50K loop. The 50K distance includes additional loops and runners complete the main 50K loop twice. All distances start and finish at the main Squak Mountain Trailhead and begin with a steady climb. The half and 50K routes summit the southeast peak; the half also summits the west peak via part of the Chybinski Loop. All routes descend past remnants of the historic Bullitt homestead on a technical, fast section of trail.
Elevation gain:
- 12K: 1,800 ft
- Half marathon: 3,400 ft
- 50K: 8,300 ft
Aid station locations are published for each distance and include multiple stations on the half and 50K courses. A free Woodland Speeders kids race follows a 0.5 mile, mostly flat interpretive loop. Finisher swag is handmade and produced using solar power. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
