Squak Mountain - April 18, 2026
Squak Mountain is a trail running event at Squak Mountain State Park in Issaquah, Washington. Distances offered are:
- 12K
- Half marathon
- 50K
The park is described as a forested area with well-maintained trails and views of surrounding mountains and Issaquah below. The race uses the main Squak Mountain trailhead at 21492 SE May Valley Rd. The event includes a kid's race - a 0.5 mile nature loop that is flat singletrack.
Course and logistics
The event uses three loops: a 12K loop, a half-marathon loop, and a 50K loop; the 50K is two laps of the longer loop. All courses begin with a steady climb and include summit sections, descents past the historic Bullitt homestead remnants, and technical singletrack. Elevation gain is listed as approximately 1800' for the 12K, 3400' for the half, and 8300' for the 50K. Aid stations are placed on the courses (12K: 3.4 miles; Half: 6.2 and 9.7 miles; 50K: 6.2, 9.7, 13.0, 19.2, 22.7, 26.0 miles). Trails will be open to other users, including hikers and equestrians on the first loop. Runners must carry a refillable container because events are cupless. Parking requires a Discover Pass and is limited; organizers advise carpooling and provide alternative neighborhood parking when the lot is full. Finisher swag is a handmade item produced with solar power. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
