Spring Run For Fun at Bridle Trails State Park

Spring Run For Fun is a trail running event at Bridle Trails State Park in Kirkland, WA. Distances offered are:

  • 5 km
  • 10 km (listed as 10.55 km / 6.55 mi)
  • Half Marathon
  • Marathon

The event uses a roughly 6.55-mile loop through the park. The 10 km follows the full loop, the Half Marathon is two laps of that loop, and the Marathon is four laps. The 5 km is a shorter counterclockwise loop that cuts across the west side of the park.

Course and aid stations

Trails are mostly medium-width or wide and generally smooth, with low to moderate climb and a few steeper slopes and narrower, rock- and root-strewn sections. The loop climbs steadily for the first mile, is mostly flat to gently rolling in the middle, and descends for the final three-quarters of a mile. Aid stations are located near the start/finish and approximately midway through the loop. Marathon runners encounter seven aid station stops, Half Marathon runners three, 10k runners one, and 5k runners no on-course aid station. Finish-area water, electrolyte drink, and food are available for all participants.

Registration, parking and logistics

Online pre-registration closes March 26. Registration features tiered pricing and on-site day-of registration when the event has not sold out. A Discover Pass is required to park inside the park; single-day and annual passes are available. Parking inside is limited; overflow parking is noted across 116th Ave NE near Lake East Christian Church.

Safety and etiquette

The park remains open to other users and horseback riders. Runners must yield to horses, step to the lower side of the trail on slopes, and communicate with riders. Participants are responsible for their own safety. Passing etiquette and low-volume or bone conduction headphones are requested. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
