Event overview
The 2026 Spring Lake Accotink 5K & 10K takes place on April 11, 2026 at Lake Accotink in Springfield, VA (7500 Accotink Park Rd; GPS 38.792723, -77.218023). The event offers a virtual race option. Points from the races count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k, and Back of the Pack series and toward the Spring Series. The race benefits the Lost Dog & Cat Rescue Foundation.

Both courses are out-and-back. The 5k is mostly trail. The 10k is roughly half trail and half paved. There are some small elevation gains on the north side of the lake. Water stations are planned at these approximate mile markers: one on the 5k at 1.55 miles, and three on the 10k at 1.55, 3.1, and 4.65 miles; Gatorade will be available at some stations. Restrooms are located near the top of the hill by the beach.
Packet pickup is available at the event and race day registration is offered; t-shirt sizes are guaranteed only for runners registered before April 1, with extra shirts available afterward on a first-come, first-served basis. Live results will be posted online and a QR code will provide immediate access at the race. Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to first and second in standard age groups.
