2026 Spring Lake Accotink 5K & 10K
This event offers two distances around Lake Accotink in Springfield, VA, with points counting toward the organizer's Year‑Long 5k, 10k and Back of the Pack series as well as a Spring Series. Walkers are welcome and a virtual race option is available for participants who cannot attend in person.
Both courses are out-and-back. The 5k is mostly on trail. The 10k is roughly half trail and half paved, with some small elevation gains on the north side of the lake. Water stations are planned along the course: three on the 10k and one on the 5k; Gatorade will be available at some stations. Restrooms are located near the top of the hill by the beach.
T-shirts are guaranteed for runners registered before April 1; extra shirts may be available afterward on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration fees differ by distance and increase before race day; prices also increase on race morning. Packet pickup is available at the event and same-day registration is offered, though T-shirt sizes cannot be guaranteed for race day registrants.
Live results will be posted during the event and final results with series points will be posted the Monday after the race. The race benefits the Lost Dog & Cat Rescue Foundation.
