Spring Into Green 5K
The Spring Into Green event is a community race held in Cheyenne, Wyoming, that highlights the local Greenway system. The event focuses on connecting neighborhoods and utilizes the south side Greenways for its route. Participants will run or walk on a 5 km course that consists of a relatively flat, paved surface.
The route begins at the west entrance of the Laramie County Community College campus. From there, the course passes through the College Drive underpass and includes a loop within the Sweetgrass development. The path then leads back through the underpass, heading northward toward Arp Elementary School where participants reach a turnaround point. To ensure participant safety and provide encouragement, course marshals are stationed along the entire route.
Specific distances and participant categories include:
- 5 km Adult
- 5 km Youth (ages 7-17)
- Kids under 6
Water stations are situated at the start and finish area, as well as at both turnaround points on the course. The event utilizes professional timing services. Awards are presented to the first-place male and female finishers in several adult age brackets ranging from 18 to over 70. In the youth categories, awards are provided for both first and second place finishers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
