Event Overview
The Spring Fling Race Series takes place on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at East Metro Park in Manor, Texas. It is presented by Bigfoot Running Company and features several different running events.
Distances and Events
The event includes the following distances and activities:
- Kids Dash: A 20-yard dash for children 10 years and under.
- 1 Mile Run: A non-chip-timed event.
- 5K Run (3.1 miles): A chip-timed race.
- 10K Run (6.2 miles): A chip-timed race.
- Volunteer then Run 5K: A chip-timed 5K for participants who also volunteer.
- Virtual Run: An option to participate remotely.
All participants in the Kids Dash, 1 Mile, 5K, and 10K receive a race t-shirt and a finisher medal. The Kids Dash is not timed. Youth pricing is available for runners aged 12 and under for the 5K and 10K distances.
Event Features
During the event, there is a live DJ at the finish line where runners' names are announced. Aid stations are located along the course, and snacks and refreshments are available after the race. A live awards celebration is held following the races. The event proceeds regardless of weather conditions.
Awards
Awards are given for the 5K and 10K races. The first overall male and female finishers in these distances receive a Bigfoot Trophy. The first male and female masters finishers (aged 40+) receive a special recognition pin. Standard age group awards are also presented for numerous age categories.
Course and Logistics
The course surface includes a mix of pavement, crushed granite, and dirt paths. The event takes place in a public park, so participants may encounter other park users. Packet pickup begins 1.5 hours before the race start. A shirt is guaranteed for registrations made at least 10 days before the event.
