Spring Challenge : 25th to 27th September 2026
The Merrell Spring Challenge is an adventure race designed exclusively for women, run by teams of three. The event is organised around time-based formats rather than fixed distances, with three race durations offered: 3-hour, 6-hour, and 9-hour events. Course layout and total kilometres change each year to reflect local terrain, so estimated race time is the recommended way to choose a format.
Course designers set target winning times and plan disciplines to fit each event duration. The 3-hour format is planned as roughly one hour each of rafting, biking, and hiking. The 6-hour and 9-hour formats extend those disciplines over longer durations, with the 9-hour event intended as a full-day adventure for experienced teams.
Typical distances for a given course example are:
- 3-hour event: Raft 9 km, Bike 18 km, Hike 3 km
- 6-hour event: Raft 9 km, Bike 30 km, Hike 8 km
- 9-hour event: Raft 9 km, Bike 32 km, Hike 23 km
Because terrain affects completion time, teams are encouraged to select a duration that matches how long they can sustain rafting, cycling, and trekking together rather than focusing only on kilometres. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
