Merrell Spring Challenge - 25-27 September 2026
The Merrell Spring Challenge is a women-only team event held over three days. Teams are composed of three people and choose a time-based course: a 3-hour, 6-hour, or 9-hour event. The event combines rafting, biking, and hiking across natural terrain.
Course design varies by location and year, so the organisers recommend choosing a course by estimated race time rather than by distance. Terrain differences such as hills or mountains affect how long sections take, so similar distances can require very different effort depending on the route.
Course designers set target winning times and plan the balance of disciplines accordingly. The 3-hour event is planned as roughly one hour each of rafting, biking, and hiking. The 6-hour event offers a longer mix of those disciplines. The 9-hour event is intended as a full-day challenge for experienced teams.
Typical example distances for each time category are shown below. Distances may change with course design and location. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
- 3-hour event: Raft 9 km, Bike 18 km, Hike 3 km
- 6-hour event: Raft 9 km, Bike 30 km, Hike 8 km
- 9-hour event: Raft 9 km, Bike 32 km, Hike 23 km
