The course is located on Gunston Cove, adjacent to Mason Neck National Wildlife Refuge and Gunston Hall. It is a moderately technical trail run. The course features:

Post-race food includes items like breakfast burritos. A free kids race is offered for ages 2-11. A finisher medal is available as an optional purchase. Participants also receive a swag item, which for this specific event in the series is either a tri-blend t-shirt or a pair of running socks.
